AFL Joins Business Ethics Leadership Alliance
Spartanburg, SC – AFL, an international manufacturer of fiber optic cable, connectivity and accessories, announces it has joined Ethisphere’s Business Ethics Leadership Alliance (BELA), a 300+ member strong globally recognized organization of leading companies collaborating together to share best practices in governance, risk management, compliance and ethics. The partnership supports AFL’s corporate sustainability program and ensures that AFL has access to best-in-class resources including data-driven benchmarking and analysis of best practices relative to other leading companies' ethics and compliance programs.
“AFL’s partnership with BELA is the latest example of how we ensure that business ethics are at the core of everything we do in the markets we serve worldwide,” said Grant Burns, AFL’s Vice President and General Counsel. “BELA’s vast resources will keep us on the leading edge of risk assessment and management as we strive to maintain integrity and accountability throughout our supply chain.”
With operations in seven countries, AFL employs approximately 5,500 associates worldwide. Over the past 35+ years, AFL has grown organically and through acquisitions to broaden its portfolio of products and services. AFL's customers range from large energy, service provider, enterprise, hyperscale and industrial companies to small businesses deploying fiber optic networks.
“The accelerated growth of BELA sends a strong message to the business community that there is a deep need for data, shared insights and collective intelligence that can support a diverse set of leaders charged with implementing effective integrity programs. BELA aligns so well with these pursuits, that it often becomes part of the working culture,” said Kevin McCormack, Senior Vice President and Executive Director for BELA.
BELA members receive enterprise-wide access to the BELA Member hub—a premier repository of resources featuring examples of work, presentations, and research from select BELA companies intended to cultivate more idea exchange and inspiration for companies to continuously improve in the area of ethics and compliance. BELA members can also benchmark their practices to those of the World’s Most Ethical Companies.
“The learning and sharing opportunities with fellow BELA members will enhance and refresh our global ethics and compliance program at AFL,” commented Brianna Woodsby, Director of Compliance. “We are excited and honored to be a part of the BELA family.”
More than 300 BELA member companies represent 60+ industries headquartered in 15 different countries. It has become a pivotal platform of connected leadership dedicated to progressing company standards and practices across global and regional business ecosystems. Driven by a global desire to advance integrity and improve business performance, in 2017 BELA expanded to South Asia.
