AFL Awards Grant to Pendleton Place

Spartanburg, SC – August 7, 2018 – AFL awarded a $5,000 grant to Pendleton Place in support of Smith House, a residential facility that house up to ten women ages 12 to 21. The grant, made possible by AFL’s Community Outreach Program, will help provide care and upkeep for the facility that fosters young women rescued from dangerous home environments.

During their stay, they are provided around-the-clock care, tutors, independent living skills training and more. Pendleton Place coordinates with local school counselors and tutors to make sure the residents are reaching their educational requirements and goals, preparing them for success when leaving the foster care system.

Since 1975, Pendleton Place has given a warm and supportive home environment for children in the foster care system. Smith House, since 1986, has specifically given care for young girls ages 12-21.

AFL has an extensive Community Outreach Program that provides grants, sponsorships, associate engagement projects, disaster relief and more. For additional information on AFL and its community initiatives, visit www.AFLglobal.com.
