AFL Announces Partnership with EPA’s ENERGY STAR® Program

Spartanburg, SC – September 8, 2022 – AFL, an international manufacturer of fiber optic cable, connectivity and accessories, announced today they have joined the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) ENERGY STAR® program as a partner. Through this voluntary partnership with the ENERGY STAR Program, AFL will work to improve energy efficiency and fight climate change through a strategic, corporate energy management program that will enhance the organization’s financial health and help preserve the environment for future generations.

Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) is one of AFL’s core values and its policy is to operate in a safe, responsible manner, which respects the environment and the health of employees, customers and the communities where it has operations. AFL commits to continuous review and improvement of environmental, health and safety performance and includes objectives, targets and metrics as part of its annual business and operating plans.

In partnership with ENERGY STAR, AFL will: 

  • Measure and track the energy performance of its organization’s facilities where possible 
  • Develop and implement a plan consistent with the ENERGY STAR Guidelines for Energy Management to achieve energy savings
  • Help spread the word about the importance of energy efficiency to its staff and community
  • Highlight its achievements with recognition offered through ENERGY STAR
