AFL Exhibiting at BICSI Winter in Orlando, Hosting Two Conference Sessions

Spartanburg, SC – AFL, an industry-leading manufacturer of fiber optic cable, connectivity and equipment, is onsite at the BICSI Winter Hybrid Conference & Expo, exhibiting in booth #915 with new products such as the Fujikura 41S+ and Apex® splice closure, presenting at a masterclass and conference session, plus providing a demo in What’s New What’s It Do.

Earn 3 BICSI CECs by attending the masterclass titled, “Facing the Challenges of Today’s Modern Data Center—from Hyperscale to Edge” held Monday, 1:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. Eastern. This masterclass takes an in-depth look at not only the optical infrastructure required to meet the needs of today’s modern data center, but also opportunities to improve deployment speed, quality, and accuracy through rack & roll strategies, pre-term solutions, and automated workflow and report generation. Register here.

On Wednesday, February 2, 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Eastern, learn more about how ribbon fiber is used in today’s advanced infrastructure. The conference session is titled “If You Thought Ribbon Was for Data Centers Only—Think Again!” and will also be hosted virtually with no cost to BICSI attendees. Register here.
Fujikura 41S+ Fusion Splicer
On the show floor, AFL will demonstrate the new Fujikura 41S+ fusion splicer, a fully ruggedized, two camera, active cladding alignment fusion splicer featuring Active Fusion Control (AFC) technology. This technology reduces reburns and improves splice losses for fibers with poor cleave angles. Additionally, AFL will demo the Fujikura 90S+, a single fiber core alignment fusion splicer with improved ergonomics and enhanced automation, plus the FlowScout PON optical power meter, an essential tool for network activation, testing and troubleshooting of passive optical networks.

Also highlighted will be the ASCEND high density platform and the Apex splice closure. The ASCEND modular platform features fiber housings, high-density optical cassettes, custom trunk cable assemblies and field reversible patch cords. The Apex splice closure is designed to decrease installation time, increase network reliability, and increase density of fiber splices, especially when coupled with AFL’s MicroCore® cable and Wrapping Tube Cable (WTC) with SpiderWeb Ribbon® (SWR®).

Finally, drop by the BICSI Theatre on January 31 at 5:45 p.m. Eastern to see Rob Gilberti, Business Development Manager for AFL’s Test & Inspection Equipment, present during What’s New What’s It Do. Rob will showcase the FlowScout PON Power Meter, designed to be used on networks such as BPON, EPON, GPON, 10G-EPON, XG-PON, XGS-PON and video.
