A large oil generation company based in Central Asia approached AFL with a request for fibre optic infrastructure deployment over their existing 10 kV medium voltage power
line network. The solution? AFL's AccessWrap™ cable was installed using specially designed wrapping equipment and accessories. The 50 km fibre optic network was successfully commissioned and used for communications, SCADA, CCTV, Fire detection,
electricity metering and control. The oil field has since seen more AccessWrap added to expand the fibre optic network to more areas of the oil field.

A white paper discusses using Anti-rotational devices (ARD) in optical ground wire (OPGW) installations.

AFL's SkyWrap® provides an optical fibre bypass to allow replacement of damaged OPGW on high voltage transmission line for one of the largest electricity transmission companies in Europe.

A large electricity transmission company in the Middle East uses AFL SkyWrap® to upgrade their communications network using the overhead power transmission lines.

AFL's AccessWrap™ is catching up in popularity with SkyWrap® for aerial fiber optic cable in Europe.

The installation of AccessWrap has doubled over the past two month due to the increased need for broadband capacity exposed by COVID-19.

The white paper explores the advantages and typical applications of single-jacket and double-jacket ADSS cable designs.

Video that shows AFL OPGW installation. This type of cable can be installed using typical conductor and shield wire stringing methods.

Increasing the fiber count in each individual buffer tube to 24 fibers reduces the size, weight, and cost of the ADSS cable.

Carlos Escobar, the Mid-Atlantic Regional Sales Manager for Utilites for AFL, elaborates on how the new configurations of the Flex-Span® ADSS cable benefit the customer.

Selecting the best bonding assembly configuration is dependent on proximity from the termination or suspension hardware to the support structure, terrain and wind conditions and tower hardware.

Flex-Span designs are optimized for a broader combination of fiber counts and span lengths, providing ADSS system designers more flexibility in their product selection.

This Quick Reference Guide is intended to provide highlights of ADSS installation instructions needed in the field.

AFL Optical Ground Wire (OPGW) applications and what type might be best for your project.

For more than 30 years, AFL has provided electric utilities with aerial cable systems that include OPGW and ADSS fiber optic cable plus associated attachment hardware.
When it comes to deploying aerial fiber optic cable there are several options, such as All-Dielectric Self-Supporting (ADSS) cable, Optical Ground Wire (OPGW), lashed loose tube on a messenger...

This paper will further explore some of the advantages of using ADSS cable as opposed to a strand and lash fiber cable for aerial electric utility applications.
