AFL Showcasing FTTx and MDU Solutions at SCTE Cable-tec 2017

Spartanburg, SC – October 17, 2017 – AFL, an industry-leading manufacturer of fiber optic cable and accessories, is exhibiting at the 2017 SCTE Cable-Tec Expo in Denver, Colorado, October 17-19 at Booth #1837. AFL will showcase its full line of MDU (Multiple Dwelling Units) and FTTx Solutions including its newest product, Wrapping Tube Cable (WTC) with SpiderWeb Ribbon® (SWR®), TITAN RTD FTTx system and the FlexScan OTDR.
Wrapping Tube Cable with SWR®
AFL’s Wrapping Tube Cable (WTC) with SWR® is an ultra-high density fiber optic cable that uses a new ribbon technology called SpiderWeb® (SWR) Ribbon, a bonded fiber ribbon design that allows for either a highly efficient ribbon splicing or an individual fiber breakout splicing process. Ideal for access or FTTH markets, WTC provides the smallest cable diameter and lowest weight, high-fiber count ribbon cable in the industry. The WTC-SWR cable is available with 144 fibers to 1,728 fibers in the armored option and up to 3,456 fibers in the non-armored configuration.

AFL’s TITAN RTD® FTTx system featuring AFL TRIDENT® Hardened Fiber Optic Connectors (HFOC) will be showcased. This unique product set allows for quick and easy subscriber connections anywhere in the OSP access network—underground, in pedestals, on poles or on aerial strand or ADSS cables. The AFL TITAN RTD Multiport is designed to allow for re-entry to ease connector repair in case of damage incurred in the field.

With 37/36/37 dB of dynamic range at 1310/1550/1650 nm, SmartAuto™ multi-pulse acquisition, plus both trace and LinkMap® icon-based network views, FlexScan is packed with performance. Designed specifically for field users, the OTDR’s 4.3" color touch-screen LCD monitor with its rugged packaging, small size and easy-to-learn user interface enables technicians to rapidly identify and resolve fiber network problems.

AFL is also exhibiting its full line of FASTConnect® pre-polished and FUSEConnect® splice-on connectors, ROGUE®, AFL's modular test platform, with aeRos®, a cloud-based, comprehensive workflow management solution that integrates every aspect of the testing process and several variations of Fujikura field splicers.
