AFL Reaches 7 Million Consecutive Safe Work Hours

Spartanburg, S.C. – December 15, 2022 – AFL’s accessories division reached a record-breaking milestone in October as they reached 7 million safe work hours. That’s more than 22 years without a lost time accident.

AFL's accessories division in Duncan, S.C. reaches
7 million consecutive safe work hours

The accessories division focuses on the fabrication and assembly of aluminum, steel and bronze parts for the electrical utility and rail transit markets. Because accessories associates use hand tooling and CNC machinery to create these heavy parts, they are exposed to injury risk every day. AFL is proud of the injury prevention and safety work that is done every day to reach a milestone like this.

“This is a milestone testament to the hard work and dedication of our associates to work safely, and AFL’s commitment to our core values,” said Eric Borowicz, General Manager for AFL’s accessories division. “Ensuring that AFL’s safety culture is transferred to every new AFL associate through training investment and daily performance creates a safe work environment for all associates."

Safe work hours equate to the cumulative number of work hours in the facility since the last event which resulted in an associate missing a day of work as a result of a workplace accident.
AFL’s accessories products are manufactured in Duncan, S.C. in a facility that is certified to ISO 4001 and ISO 9001:2015 standards. For additional information on AFL, its products and services, visit www.AFLglobal.com.
