AFL Sets New Standard in Fiber Testing with Launch of FlowScout OPM8 and OLS8
AFL, a global leader in providing end-to-end solutions for the energy, service provider, enterprise, hyperscale, and industrial markets, announces the launch of the FlowScout™ OPM8 optical power meter and FlowScout OLS8 optical light source. These groundbreaking devices provide significant advancements for enhanced performance, data reporting and user experience.
The FlowScout OPM8 and OLS8 feature large color touchscreens that simplify setup and operation, making them user-friendly and intuitive. Simple icon-based operations make set-up, test, validation and documentation of installed fiber as simple as touching an icon. Immediate feedback on test results is provided with user-set Pass/Fail thresholds, while enhanced reporting features allow storing over 1,000 test results on the OPM8 for simplified data tracking.
According to Arun Jain, Director of Product & Marketing for AFL's Test and Inspection, "The FlowScout's touchscreen interface and icon-based operation provide a smartphone-like user experience. Additionally, the OPM8's comprehensive reporting capabilities offer functionality on par with more costly OLTS systems."
Designed for portability, the FlowScout OPM8 and FlowScout OLS8 are rugged, durable, and backed by an industry-leading five year warranty. Both utilize Wave ID to accurately measure individual wavelengths and reduce test time. The OLS8 and the OPM8 are designed to seamlessly integrate with AFL's FlexApp and FlexReporter™ Test Results Manager software, enabling comprehensive reporting and data management from anywhere.
Both the FlowScout OPM8 and OLS8 devices are essential for a wide range of applications, including enterprise LAN and data center fiber networks, FTTH PON networks, and broadband network testing. The FlowScout OPM8 is available in a low or high-power kit and the OLS8 is available in three separate kits depending on the wavelengths being tested.
