AFL/United Way of the Piedmont Check Presentation“United Way of the Piedmont is a force in our community,” commented Corie Culp, community relations manager for AFL. “Our associates are completely engaged through volunteerism, serving on boards and committees and through our annual campaign. They have a clear understanding of the impact and this year’s contribution shows their commitment to our community.”

This year’s United Way campaign theme was “Lights. Camera. Take Action.” Throughout the campaign, associates had the opportunity to learn about Project Hope Foundation, a United Way-funded agency that provides services for the autism community. A video featuring an AFL associate impacted by Project Hope Foundation was shown during associate meetings, explaining how United Way impacts Project Hope Foundation, him and his family. Various activities where held over the two-week campaign that culminated in a celebration lunch.

AFL locations in Washington, New Hampshire, Massachusetts and North Carolina also participated in the campaign with more than $37,000 presented in those communities. The campaign generated $325,000 in donations within five states.
