This leads to easy adoption requiring a minimum level of skills, faster homes passed while providing cost‐effectiveness and overall Capital and Operating savings. The requirement given was for 48F, 24F and 12F distribution cables with 1F and 2F drops for property connection. All the network was to be built fast and with no impact on existing power overhead infrastructure. Responding to customer needs, AFL has offered ADSS‐W Future Access system which meets all the mentioned criteria. CHALLENGE The need for fibre in Hungary is large, and some Telco operators have planned to build their networks over the existing electrical infrastructure as well as their own pole network. The customer required a solution that would allow a very fast deployment, with minimal cost and disruption to residents in areas of installation. The planning of the network (also considered as a cost) was also to be reduced to a minimum. An additional requirement was given to the installation method, to drive cost out of all areas of the project. Customer requested to install the system and all its parts from ladders against the poles, eliminate the cost of heavy plant hire (such as cherry pickers). The specific requirement to reduce the capital investments at the home pass stage was also a key to solution selection. ADSS-W Cable Section
